We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day for our field day this year at Clermont. All the students showed great sportsmanship and most importantly had lots of fun while learning ways to raise their heart rates and work together as a team.

Our class was chosen to participate in a program called Architecture in the Schools (AIS)! Through this program, architects come into our classroom over a period of eight weeks to teach students about architecture and what it means to be an architect. Students use knowledge and skills they already have as well as gaining new skills and concepts through their interactions with the new guests. This year, our focus is on creating a butterfly habitat.

Ned the Washington Post mascot visited Kindergarten along with a producer from the newspaper to talk to the Kindergarteners about being a reporter. This visit was part of our project based learning on community helpers.

First graders used engineering kits such as keva planks, brainflakes, and straws and connectors to create architectural structures in art. They worked together or individually, to create an interesting structure they might like in their community.

Fourth Graders at Clermont ES celebrated Colonial Day today. Part of the festivities included dancing!
