Chinese Language Learning

Our school gives students the opportunity to learn Chinese through the FCPS Foreign Language in the Elementary Schools/Language through Content (FLES/LTC) program. This program helps students develop basic communication skills in Chinese and reinforces Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) skills. Both teachers and students use Chinese in the classroom, making learning more engaging and fun.

Multicultural and Multilingual Support

Our school has more than 18 different languages spoken by our student population, and almost as many countries are represented by our Eagles. Our bilingual family liaison is able to help connect non-English speaking community members with the information and assistance they need to support their children and ensure academic success. Our International Festival celebrates diversity, promotes understanding, builds community, and raises awareness of the cultures in our school.

Monthly school-wide morning meeting

Clermont students participate in a monthly school-wide morning meeting to help build a strong sense of community for the entire school. During the school-wide morning meeting, staff and students set a positive tone for the day by welcoming each other and sharing school-wide news. In addition, we take the time to enhance social-emotional learning and encourage cross-grade interactions. The school-wide morning meeting is an inclusive atmosphere where everyone participates, and ultimately contributes to building a sense of community.

Inclusive classrooms for students with disabilities

Clermont staff takes great pride in focusing on serving our students with disabilities in the inclusion classroom setting as much as possible. By creating inclusive and supportive learning environments, we can ensure that all students, regardless of their abilities, have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Meet our special education staff!
