Outcomes:

  • On the Spring 2025 SOL reading tests, 3rd grade students' unadjusted pass rate will increase by 5 pts (compared to 2024). 
  • On the Spring VALLSS assessment, students in grades 1-2 will demonstrate improvement (compared to the Fall VALLSS) at a rate commensurate with or exceeding the county average.
  • The percentage of students in grades K-3 meeting or exceeding VALLSS screener benchmarks will increase by 5 percentage points from fall 2024 to spring 2025. 

Strategies:

  • Increase efficiency of instructional delivery to ensure all students have daily access to all components of the language arts block as outlined in the new core curriculum. 
  • Improve integrity of implementation of new core curriculum, English Language Development program, and/or intervention programs by using FCPS-adopted resources with fidelity. 
  • Increase use of data to plan instruction and monitor progress during intervention to ensure that students demonstrating risk master foundational skills. 


ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MATH AREA 2 

Outcomes:

  • By the end of the 2024-25 school year, the percentage of multilingual students passing the Grades 3-6 Mathematics SOL will increase at least 5 percentage points from 50% to 55%.  
  • By the end of the 2024-25 school year the percentage of students in grades 3-6 meeting or exceeding the iReady grade level benchmark will increase at least 5 percentage points from 76% in the fall to 81% in the spring. 

Strategies:

  • Increase teachers' content knowledge and implementation of the 2023 FCPS mathematics program of studies. 
  • Improve teachers’ implementation of Framework for Engaging & Student-Centered Mathematics Instruction. 
  • Increase teacher's implementation of strategies and conversation structures that increase academic talk between students related to Shift 4: from show and tell to share and compare.


SOCIO-EMOTIONAL LEARNING & WELLNESS AREA 3 

Outcomes:

  • By June 2025, the percent favorable, for grades 3-5, student scores on the Emotional Regulation topic on the SEL Screener will increase by 5 percentage points from 51% in Spring 2024 to 56% in Spring of 2025. 

Strategies:

  • There is dedicated time during the school day to develop and utilize SEL competencies and mental health protective factors, beyond the required practices (e.g. SEL curriculum).
